Dale Axelrod, Communications Coordinator

Former San Francisco street artist Dale Axelrod is a freelance graphic artist, cartoonist, painter, and longtime activist and organizer living in Petaluma CA. 

He helped write the San Francisco Arts Commission Street Artists Program, draft legislation, and coordinate (and qualify) two ballot initiative drives resulting in artists being able to get licenses to sell their own creations on San Francisco public sidewalks and plazas.

Dale's extensive experience in designing posters, flyers, cartoons, and graphics for numerous political campaigns and committees makes him well-equipped to help coordinate the work of EDA's Communications Working Group.

He's been a precinct captain, fundraiser and/or political cartoonist for Democratic GOTV efforts in presidential campaigns: Kerry vs. Bush (2004), Gore vs. Bush (2000), Carter vs. Ford (1976), and McGovern vs. Nixon (1972).

His work on national issues includes writing and illustrating a comic book opposing Senate Bill 1437 (the precursor to the current “Patriot Act”) which was distributed to all members of Congress (1978) by NCARL (National Committee Against Repressive Legislation).

Dale has served as a Precinct Officer (Inspector) at the polls on Election Day, and is a member of the Sonoma County Democratic Central Committee

Dale is also a member of Progressive Democrats Sonoma County's Election Defense Committee, and Progressive Democrats of America's Clean, Fair, Transparent Elections Issue Organizing Team.
