EAC's work to assist military and overseas voters

EAC has several projects underway designed to better serve military and overseas citizens who register and vote absentee under the provisions of the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). EAC announces the Voting Technology and Accessibility Research-Military Heroes Initiative

This $500,000 grant competition is focused on improving voting technology and accessibility for recently injured military personnel.  The research will result in a better understanding of how to enhance, augment, and develop voting equipment and improve election processes and voting technology needed for this population and others with disabilities. During the next few weeks, the EAC expects to announce plans for the remaining voting access grant funds appropriated by Congress. The deadline for this grant application is June 16, 2010, 6:00 p.m. EDT. Read the notice with instructions.

EAC, FEC and the OAS cooperate to organize the Seventh Inter-American Meeting of Electoral Management Bodies

Representatives from the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS), the Federal Election Commission (FEC), and the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) met recently to sign a memorandum of understanding to establish the guidelines for cooperation in the organization of the Seventh Inter-American Meeting of Electoral Management Bodies that will be held on May 6-7 in the U.S. capital.
