EAC has several projects underway designed to better serve military and overseas citizens who register and vote absentee under the provisions of the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). This includes Draft UOCAVA Pilot Program Testing Requirements and a Draft Voting System Pilot Program Testing & Certification Manual. There is also a new Report to Congress on EAC's Efforts to Establish Guidelines for Remote Electronic Absentee Voting Systems. Read more.

 

EAC is pleased to announce the Military Heroes Initiative, a $500,000 two-year grant aimed at advancing voting technology and processes for recently injured military personnel. Read more

This $500,000 grant competition is focused on improving voting technology and accessibility for recently injured military personnel.  The research will result in a better understanding of how to enhance, augment, and develop voting equipment and improve election processes and voting technology needed for this population and others with disabilities. During the next few weeks, the EAC expects to announce plans for the remaining voting access grant funds appropriated by Congress. The deadline for this grant application is June 16, 2010, 6:00 p.m. EDT. Read the notice with instructions.
